We are pleased to announce the official launch of our 2021 cohort for the program!
In spite of the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, 50:50 Startups was able to remain resilient by continuing its program for the second cohort and being open to applications last fall.
After careful consideration, we accepted 36 applicants, and we are so excited to be working with these incredible individuals. Our cohort this year is also diverse, composed of individuals from a range of backgrounds.
Learn a little more about our cohort by looking at the composition chart below:
We are incredibly delighted to begin working with the new cohort, and we have a number of events and workshops lined up for our participants as we prepare them to become successful co-founders of exciting startups.
Last year, ventures that came out of our program included BlockIt, a startup which develops toy kits for encouraging a kinesthetic learning experience through physical and digital spaces in which users can feel, touch and operate the kits. The developers of BlockIt (Kareem Abu Alfilat, Sally Awad Asfour and Nicola Mansour) won second-place.
